When Apple contacted me about the idea of her engagement shoot, I couldn't help but be intrigued. She wanted me to capture them while Disneyland was celebrating Leap Year Day. The catch? Disneyland was going to be
open for 24 hours. It was the first time the park had ever been open overnight and they wanted to stay for the whole thing.
The adventurous soul inside of me jumped at the chance. I left the house at 5:00 in the morning and met Walter and Apple at 6:00A.M. The morning light at Disneyland was beautiful and I smiled from ear to ear as I observed the warm glow that wrapped around Sleeping Beauty's Castle. *sigh* I was in photographer heaven.
We started out on the Lily Belle and went strong all the way until 10:00 PM, when I said goodbye and left Apple and Eli to camp out in the park until 6:00A.M. the next morning (I have a baby and was working another photo shoot the following morning, so I had to take it a little easy, after all.) When I left the park, the traffic was crazier than I have ever seen it at Disneyland. I'm so glad we started early! As I drove away, I thought about how much fun we had. It was a long day, but totally worth it. We had a great time and bonded over my freaking out and screaming when I tried to take their photos on Thunder Mountain.
In conclusion: One more day of Disney?=An awesome adventure.
